Trek Packing List

Trek 2026 Packing List

Don’t wait until the night before to gather your things!

You’ll want to make sure your shoes and clothing are comfortable and don’t cause chafing. We recommend wearing the clothes you plan to hike in on a long hike to see how everything feels!

We are planning to wear pioneer clothing for our first day at trek and our pioneer dance, then you may wear long sleeve, protective hiking clothing.

A word about chafing: if you’ve never had the unpleasant experience of parts of your body rubbing raw after repeated motion (such as long hikes) you don’t want to start on trek!

We strongly recommend you test your clothing and shoes and pack an anti-chafing product (such as body glide) in your day pack in case you start to feel something rub!

See packing list for all the details and images below for further clarification!

Please note, we made a change from the kickoff and youth are now asked to bring their items in a backpack NOT a bucket. Buckets are no longer needed.

UPDATED Trek 2026 Family Packing List (to be collected by each Ma & Pa for their family – if you have these items you can loan to them that may be very helpful!)

Backpack: This will be transported from campsite to campsite for you and contains your extra clothes, sleeping gear and toiletries.

Daypack or Cinch Sack: This is a small bag for keeping with you during the day on the bus and on the trail. You can put it in the handcart so it does not need to have comfortable straps.
